【摘要】:1.1ThistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheImpactValue(IV)ofasoileitherinthefieldoratestmold.1.2Thestandardtestmethod,usinga4.5kg(10lbm)hammer,issuitablefor,butnotlimitedto,evaluatingthestrengthofanunsaturatedcompactedfill,inparticularpavementmaterials,soils,andsoil-aggregateshavingmaximumparticlesizeslessthan37.5mm(1.5in.).1.3Byusingalighter0.5kg(1.1lbm)hammer,thistestmethodisapplicableforevaluatinglowerstrengthsoilssuchasfinegrainedcohesionless,highlyorganic,saturated,orhighlyplasticsoilshavingamaximumparticlesizelessthan9.5mm(0.375in.).1.4Byperforminglaboratorytestcorrelationsforaparticularsoilusingthe4.5kg(10lbm)hammer,IVmaybecorrelatedwithanunsoakedCaliforniaBearingRatio(CBR)ormaybeusedtoinferpercentagecompaction.1.5ThevaluesstatedSIaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesaregivenforinformationonly.1.6AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.Themethodusedtospecifyhowdataarecollected,calculated,orrecordedinthisstandardisnotdirectlyrelatedtotheaccuracytowhichthedatacanbeappliedindesignorotherusesorboth.Howoneappliestheresultsobtainedusingthisstandardisbeyonditsscope.1.7Thisstandardmayinvolvehazardousmaterials,operations,andequipmentThisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note1TheequipmentandprocedurescontainedinthistestmethodaresimilartothosedevelopedbyB.Clegginthe1970sattheUniversityofWesternAustralia,Nedlands,Australia.ImpactValueisalsocommonlyknownasCleggImpactValue(CIV).
