【摘要】:ThistestmethodisapplicableonlyfordistinguishingbetweeninadequatelyfusedandadequatelyfusedPVC.ThedifferencebetweenthermallydegradedandadequatelyfusedPVCcannotbedetectedbythistestmethod.Acetoneimmersionisnotasubstituteforburst,impact,orotherphysicalorchemicaltestsonPVCpipeorfittingsandit,therefore,shallnotbeusedastheonlytestspecificationforpurchasingofPVCpipeandfittings.Thistestonlydetectsinadequatefusionanddoesnotdeterminetheover-allqualityofthePVCpipeorfittings.ThistestmethodisusefulindeterminingwhetherinadequatefusioncontributedtofailureofPVCpipeorfittingsinotherphysicalorchemicaltests,orinservice.ThistestmethodisusefulinevaluatingtheadequacyofPVCfusionobtainedinprocessormaterialstrials.Thistestmethoddeterminesadequacyoffusiononasingle,relativelysmallspecimen.Thistestmethodrequirestheuseofahazardousreagentwhichmustbeproperlyhandledanddisposed.Therefore,thistestmethodmaynotbecost-effectivetoemployasaroutinequalitycontroltest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheadequacyoffusionofextrudedrigidpoly(vinylchloride)(PVC)pipeandmoldedfittingsasindicatedbyreactiontoimmersioninanhydrousacetone.1.2Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandardexceptwhereinstrumentsarecalibratedinSIunits.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninAnnexA1.
