【摘要】:TheproceduredescribedinthistestmethodfortheshearresistancefortheGCLortheGCLinterfaceisintendedasaperformancetesttoprovidetheuserwithasetofdesignvaluesforthetestconditionsexamined.Thetestspecimensandconditions,includingnormalstresses,aregenerallyselectedbytheuser.ThistestmethodmaybeusedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsofGCLs,butcautionisadvisedasoutlinedin5.2.1.Theshearresistancecanbeexpressedonlyintermsofactualtestconditions(seeNote1andNote2).Thedeterminedvaluemaybeafunctionoftheappliednormalstress,materialcharacteristics,sizeofsample,moisturecontent,drainageconditions,displacementrate,magnitudeofdisplacement,andotherparameters.Note18212;Inthecaseofacceptancetestingrequiringtheuseofsoil,theusermustfurnishthesoilsample,soilparameters,anddirectsheartestparameters.Note28212;TestingunderthistestmethodshouldbeperformedbylaboratoriesqualifiedinthedirectsheartestingofsoilsandmeetingtherequirementsofPracticeD3740,especiallysincethetestresultsmaydependonsite-specificandtestconditions.ThistestmethodmeasuresthetotalresistancetoshearwithinaGCLorbetweenaGCLandadjacentmaterial.Thetotalshearresistancemaybeacombinationofsliding,rollingandinterlockingofmaterialcomponentsThistestmethoddoesnotdistinguishbetweenindividualmechanisms,whichmaybeafunctionofthesoilandGCLused,methodofmaterialplacementandhydration,normalandshearstressesapplied,meansusedtoholdtheGCLinplace,rateofhorizontaldisplacement,andotherfactors.Everyeffortshouldbemadetoidentify,ascloselyasispracticable,theshearedareaandfailuremodeofthespecimen.Careshouldbetaken,includingclosevisualinspectionofthespecimenaftertesting,toensurethatthetestingconditionsarerepresentativeofthosebeinginvestigated.Informationonprecisionbetweenlaboratoriesisincomplete.Incasesofdispute,comparativeteststodeterminewhetherastatisticalbiasexistsbetweenlaboratoriesmaybeadvisable.ThetestresultscanbeusedinthedesignofGCLapplications,includingbutnotlimitedto,thedesignoflinersandcapsforlandfills,cutoffsfordams,andotherhydraulicbarriers.5.4Whilethepeakstrengthsandpost-peakstrengthsmeasuredbythistestaregenerallyreproduciblebymultiplelaboratories,thedisplacementatwhichpeakstrengthandpost-peakstrengthoccursandtheshapeoftheshearstress-horizontaldisplacementcurvemaydifferconsiderablyfromonetestdevicetoanotherduetodifferencesinspecimenmounting,grippingsurfacesandmaterialpreparation.Theuserofresultsfromthisstandardiscautionedthatresultsataspecifieddisplacementmaynotbereproducibleacrosslaboratoriesandthattherelativehorizontaldisplacementmeasuredinthistestatpeakstrengthmaynotmatchrelativehorizontaldisplacementatpeakstrengthinafieldcondition.1.1ThistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingtheinternalshearresistanceofaGeosyntheticClayLiner(GCL)ortheinterfaceshearresistancebetweentheGCLandanadjacentmaterialunderaconstantrateofdisplacementorconstantstress.1.2Thistestmethodisintendedtoindicatetheperformanceoftheselectedspecimenbyattemptingtomodelcertainfieldconditions.1.3ThistestmethodisapplicabletoallGCLs.Remoldedorundisturbedsoilsamplescanbeusedinthetestdevice.1.4Thistestmethodisnotsuitedforthedevelopmentofexactstres......
